These homeowners wanted to increase their connection from inside of their North Vancouver house to the gorgeous back yard & pool. However, instead of creating an interior extension, we gave them an exterior living space that could blend the two spaces together.

So as Captain Picard would say, we made it so—beginning with a custom built-in grilling station designed to bring tears of joy to the eyes of anyone who’s ever rubbed a steak. Starting with a swimming pool but absolutely no deck space, we added level artificial turf for sunbathers, a garden for gardeners, and a covered, heated patio with firepit for people who like to sit near open flames on chilly nights and gaze at stars through skylights while sipping wine paired with acoustic guitars and Steve Miller songs.

But what truly makes its awesomeness so shrine-worthy is the fact that entire outdoor space now integrates so effortlessly with the kitchen and living room. In fact, if we were to name it all as one room, we’d probably call the Integrated Centre for Good Living.
